  5. To measure the image size, which is directly 
  6. related to the corneal radius, the prisms that 
  7. form the left and top images can be moved 
  8. forward and back.   As the prisms move they 
  9. increase or decrease the separation of the 
  10. deviated image from the central image.  The 
  11. examiner moves the prisms by rotating the 
  12. power drums.  When they are moved to the 
  13. point where the sides of the images touch 
  14. (plus signs or minus signs overlap) the size 
  15. of the image is know and is converted to a 
  16. dioptric power by the markings on the drum.
